PRISM was launched in 2009 by founder/creative director Anna Laub, an ex style editor, born out of a desire for optical glasses that were both fashionable and functional.

Her love of sunnier climates, together with her obsession with functionality and an attention to detail, brought her to develop her minimal aesthetic into a range of resortwear products: from beachwear and swimwear, to eyewear and espadrilles; all the while maintaining the same ethos - to make luxury products that are equally functional as they are beautiful.

Celebrating traditional craftsmanship, all PRISM products combine skilled workmanship with modern design. The acetate eyewear collection is handmade in the Treviso region of Italy; the historic home of glasses making, cut from blocks of acetate, exclusively developed for PRISM. Each frame is as unique as the wearer. While the lightweight metal eyewear is all made in Japan.

Similarly PRISM swimwear and beachwear are all hand made in Italy using luxury European fabrics developed exclusively for PRISM. The focus is on an attention to detail and the perfect fit for each and every body type. And the collection is made to mix and match shapes, styles and sizes using archive and excess European fabrics only. Other accessories such as luxury espadrilles and sandals, are all made by hand in Spain, using leathers, snake skins and fabrics exclusively made for PRISM.

In 2019, a new launch from PRISM was born: PRISM² - a collection of multi-functional pieces that can be worn as swimwear, underwear or sportswear - sustainably made in Italy using a 3D knitting technique that minimises waste and an eco-dye technique that is Greenpeace-certified. The pieces are all multi-fit too.

All PRISM products are designed in London. The PRISM head office and flagship store is based on Chiltern Street in the burgeoning Marylebone area of central London.

In December 2014, creative director Anna Laub won The Emerging Accessory Designer of The Year at the British Fashion Awards and in 2015 was one of the finalists in the BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund. And in 2020 PRISM was awarded Wallpaper’s prestigious design award for the launch of the new PRISM² line.
